So it's already started! The Holidays are among us. Thanksgiving is almost here for my Maltese Maniacs in the US. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and New Years day are just around the corner. My Maltese barks constantly and sometimes for no apparent reason, why is she doing this and how can I stop it? - ADAM FRANKS

Yapping and barking can be a big problem with Maltese, but before you try to address this issue it's important to understand there are different types of barking, and they happen for different reasons. Along with body language, barking is a way for a dog to communicate. Barking can be used to communicate boredom, fear, frustration, or even excitement.

Maltese Remedies

Does your Maltese have dry, itchy skin sometimes? Here are a few remedies for immediate relief:

Tips and Tricks

If you stare at a shy or uncertain dog, this can make her nervous. Strong eye contact can be taken as a dominance challenge. This doesn't mean you can never look your dog in the eye, but if your Maltese starts acting submissive when you look at her for an extended time, this is probably the reason. Learn More Tips Here
