The day I found our little girl....7/1/09

The day I found our little girl....7/1/09

Our little Morkie girl is the Sweetest Monster! One minute she's terrorizing our 2 yr old male Cairn Terrier and the next minute, she turns into my little snuggle bug. Oh, and what a little kisser! We got her @ 6 1/2 months and she turns a year on 1/20/10.

When I read the personality description on this site I was astounded at how dead-on it describes our Maltese Yorkie mix Tari. Being Packer fans, she was named after my favorite player, Atari Bigby. (our Cairn sports the name Brett Favre) She gets along really well with Brett and seems to have settled into being Mommy's Little Girl quite well.

The biggest problem I have with her, well, besides the house training trouble, is that she runs off if she is able to get out the door. She ignores our calls to come back and she's REALLY fast - I swear, I have NEVER seen a faster dog. We are able to have Brett outside without a leash but she cannot be trusted off a leash - for her own good. I hope to find help with this issue on this site. I didn't want even one dog and I love BOTH my babies so, so much. Tari is a fantastic addition to our family!!

Some things we have to work on: house training, jumping on us, nipping at our toes as we are walking through the room, biting at us when she's excited, running away, chewing on everything wood she can find, she thinks EVERYTHING is supposed to be in her mouth, getting our Morkie dog to calm down when she's "on a roll".

by: Little Miss Muffit

You just described Little Miss Muffit. These little cuties, Morkies, and the other Maltese mixes seem to have the same personalities! They are adorable, but totally full of the devil!! My Muffit likes stealing paper, any kind, no matter whose. She steals stuff we didn't even know we had; then runs like the dickens playing hide and seek. I, too, would like help with their hyperactivity. I can't get her to just walk on her leash, she wants to run! And it takes a giant effort and very "staring" eyes and pack leader stance and look to get her to come. She'd rather run away, too. Other than that, she is super friendly to everyone, but likes to jump and nip them. I have to hold her and calm her down again showing her who the pack leader is. It's hard to discipline her when she's so darn cute? But if you don't, they are out of control.

Hey, I live in Las Vegas too!

I've got some of the same housetraining and nipping issues with my maltese, Ody.
