Booney Best Williams

I teach middle school, and the day I was going to get my puppy, I was teaching 6th grade. I had thought and thought of a really good, neat name, and nothing came to me. So I had my students do a brainstorming session on dogs' names. One of my students whose last name was Best told me his very first dog was named Booney. There were probably over 75 names on my list, and I still didn't have a clue what I was going to name him.
The very minute the man put that tiny, Maltipoo snowball in my arms, I fell in love.
I had just had a stroke at the age of 32, and this was one of the best feelings I had since my stroke. He asked me what his name would be and out of all the names mentioned, Booney came to mind. It fit him perfectly. So in honor of my student, I named him Booney Best Williams. The BEST name ever!! As I have said before, Booney was the best medicine I had.
