Dog Potty Training - Lady

by Megan Tuttle
(Shearstown, NL, Canada)

Warm and Cozy

I have a Morkie named Lady and I actually found it quite easy to do dog potty training with her. I TOTALLY LIMITED her freedom around the house and kept her in every room I was in to avoid ANY accidents. I would take her out every 45 minutes to the same spot in the yard and would say the command "do your pee", and when she would I would praise her. If she couldn't be watched she was put into her crate, and the same if we left the house she went in there too. After 4 months and the same routine over and over she was potty trained. The key is to avoid accidents. The key to avoiding accidents is not letting them roam the house and if you see them sniffing before the 45 minutes is up, put them out right away. I didn't bother using any pads and this worked excellent for my dog Lady! Hope this helps!
