Italian Dog Names - Issabella Versasce
by Blinky
(Louisville, KY)
Issabella and her sister Sofia Ralph Lauren, were rescued by me from a shelter in Canton Ohio. I think Issabella Versasce is a very cute Italian dog name. I drove 7 hours to get them after I spent weeks persuading the rescue to let me have them. I live in Louisville, KY and their rules had been to not let the rescues leave an area more than an hour from them. They were a bonded pair, in fact the only two in the litter and they have never been apart except for one time when "Bella" was hospitalized and then I took her sister to visit her every day. I named she and her sister foo-foo names as they were so scraggley and matted and dirty when I got them I thought it would make them feel better about themselves if they had great names. And it worked they are little princesses today and rule our home along with our big male Maltie Daye Tripper!

Italian Dog Names - Nico
My mother is Sicilian and she said the dog needed an Italian name. Nico is short for Nicolino and I thought it fit my little dog very well.

Italian Dog Names - Elmo
by Connie
(SC)
That's what happens when you let your grandchildren name your dog! Elmo is actually an Italian dog name. I looked it up and in Italian it means "worthy of love" which is perfect.
Elmo is a rescue and I'm so happy to have him. My other Maltese, Rudy, gets along fine with him and they play like puppies. Out of all the six Maltese that I've owned over the last 23 years he's the nicest looking.
His hair is long because he let's me groom him and even likes the attention and sits still while I comb him out a few times a week.
