Same boat
by: Anonymous

I have to say I have been in the same boat. We have gone thru a few dogs in our lifetime. In fact we have only kept 3 out of probably 7 dogs that have been thru our home a daushound that we had to have put down this last Christmas at age 7 (had her since she was 6 weeks old :( because she went down in the back and an English bulldog that had to be put down due to a torsion at age 3. The others have been re-homed with friends and family. So all in all our luck with animals has not been that great. We now have Maximus an adorable 4 month old Maltipalm. He is great! He was super easy to house train, very calm and very smart. He weighs a whopping 3 lbs at his current age and your right looks like a ewok! My husband wanted to name him Wicket! He does not nip our 10 month old little girl when he tries to play with him rather he licks and circles her. He is very loving and so far has not had a shedding issue. He only yips when kenneled if we are leaving and can’t take him on our errand. I didn’t even know that this was a hybrid breed when we got Max. When I brought Max home I did catch some flack from the friends and family who where very skeptical about yet another animal. They asked me how I was going to get rid of this one. Stage its death? Now they are very envious and have all asked to take him. Of course this little guy is not going anywhere; he has found a wonderful forever home with us.

Pomeranians do not nip
by: Anonymous

Love the description of your dog but did not care for the nippy desc. of pomeranians. Mine NEVER do that nor do the other ones I know. If fact, you almost describe mine and I have four of them. Sounds like you have had training issues or something if you kept giving away your babies. Sad.

so cute!
by: Lor

Anyone out there who has a Maltipom, could you please email me who you purchased your puppy from? I have been looking into a Maltipom, but afraid my 6 yr old son may be a little too quick or hyper (he is a typical boy) for her! Any advice would be appreciated!

That is so much like our Sammy!
by: Anonymous

All the stuff you said sounds like our little Sammy..everyone who sees him wants to pet him, carry him or have him! =) He's brought us so much attention during his walks that it takes us longer to finish it than normal. He starts out shy with strangers but after checking them out, he's fine.

He's great with children and is extremely patient with them. My nephew who's 15 months was pulling on his hair near his mouth and trying to grab his nose but he just allowed it without a growl or anything!

We love him so much and are so thankful that we got him as we were initially looking for a maltipoo too but totally fell in love with him when we saw him at the petshop.

I would recommend this mixed breed anytime.

Our dogs are two peas in a pod!
by: Belle

Our maltipom, Gizmo, has all the same wonderful traits as McKinney. Same thing happens to us...whenever we take him to the groomer or if friends dogsit, they just rave about his sweet personality. We too can't imagine life without our Gizmo!
