Charley, Exhausted
My male Maltichon Charley was three years old when his previous owner unfortunately died and her adult son placed him with Maltese Rescue. I fostered him,and I was so impressed with his adaptability, good manners, sociability, and affectionate nature that I adopted him. I was told he was a Maltese, but his hair is curly, his legs are long, and our groomer tells me she believes he is a Maltichon. He weighs nearly eleven pounds, loves small children, jumps on the back of the couch so he can jump into my arms as I walk by, and somehow steals Kleenex from the box. I have no idea how he reaches them, although I admit he is extremely intelligent. (He only does it when I am gone and he is bored.) So far he gets along with all other dogs except for one particular Pit mix at the dog park. He knew enough to scamper over to me and ask to be picked up. He is the fastest runner I've ever seen, loves to run circles and bark when unleashed. Loves to sit on my lap when I'm on the computer, but if I am busy writing and put him down, telling him to stay, he will sleep on the floor next to me. I feel guilty if I get up in the night and he follows me, but after all -- what else does he have to do? My male Maltichon is a very good companion and my elderly Ridgeback-mix and I both love him.
