Wanted to let you know some Maltichons do have an oral fixation. Our dog Cody will grab a toy in his mouth when we wake him in the morning as he is jumping around the room with excitement. Also, when we come home at night, he will run and grab a toy in his mouth. His favorites are: a long soft- rubber blue dog (found in specialty dog stores), a stuffed "flea" with terrycloth-like material, small splash balls make for pool use (he loves to throw them up in the air and catch them), and any small stuffed animal he can get his teeth on (beanie-baby type). So, tell him "no no" when it comes to biting and offer him lots of small toys (not hard plastic). Good luck :)

thank you for the comment! :) may i ask what puppy food you gave your dog? and did your puppy also have biting problems? because i am starting to think that bentley does also. although he is only 9 weeks old and the vet said he was teething, he only likes to bite people. not his chew toys.

they're a tad bigger due to the bichon mix - my dog is/was sold as a maltese but her sister is 14 lbs and despite mine being 7 lbs every day for over 10 years - they're bound to grow fast if given proper nutrition (puppy food) NOT to exceed 11 mos - then normal food b/c puppy food is high in fat and calories for their over active nature! Please keep sending pics - your baby is adorable~!
