Regarding Casey's car ride issues, our Maltichon also gets sick very quickly in the car. The only thing we can do when traveling hours to family members is to put him in a well padded crate with his toys. It seems like when his movement is restricted and he isn't looking out of the window that helps. Also, "Romeo" loves his toys (has chewed a couple of things he shouldn't have- XBOX earpiece, eyeglass temple covers, and computer cord). He has an oral fixation and when he wakes up he will put a toy in his mouth before greeting us. His favorite toys are: a really soft long blue rubber dog, a six legged fabric "flea", the squishly small fabric splash balls (made for throwing when they get wet), and small stuffed toys. Casey will probably start settling down soon, as I have noticed that Romeo- age two- is still playful, but has more down time now. Hope this helps- good luck- and let your dog know what is expected...they are really smart and are always willing to please.
