About Us - Maltese Dog Breed Lovers
Certified Maltese Maniacs
If you haven't noticed yet, I'm in love with the Maltese dog breed and so is my husband! We adopted our first Maltese
in July of 2004. Before then, I didn't even know that Maltese dog breed existed. I just knew that I wanted a small, non-shedding,
hypoallergenic dog.
I searched endlessly on Petfinder.com for the perfect pup. When I finally
came across Marley's picture and read her story, I was instantly in love. We immediately adopted her and I have been a fan of
Maltese dog rescue associations ever since.
We treat Marley like any pet parent should . . . we spoil the crap out of her! She gets to sleep on our bed, goes on three walks per day,
and is carried around in her carrier when we go shopping. Marley basically does whatever she pleases (within reason).
I am happy to announce that we just added another member to our family! Disco is a male Maltese Poodle mix that we
adopted after he was found by a neighbor in their church parking lot. He is getting along ok with our other Maltese furbaby, Marley.
She is definitely the alpha female though and let's Disco know his place! He is teaching Marley how to be more playful and they are becoming quite the pair.
Fast Facts About Marley & Disco
- They go to doggie daycare once a week at the Pet Play Place.
Marley's favorite activities are lounging on the princess chair and being pet by the nice humans. Disco enjoys barking at the bigger dogs
and participating in wrestling matches.
- Marley's nicknames are:
"The Gentle Maltese", "Miss McButters",
"Marley Bo Stinky" & "Picky Princess."
Disco's nicknames are:
"Growly Pants", "Disco Duck",
"Madman" & "Mr. Fluffy Butt."
- They love playing with all their Maltese dog breed friends at the Atlanta Maltese Meetup Group.
- Marley's favorite treats are Beggin Littles and
Dingo Mini's.
Disco will eat anything you put in front of him.
