Happy New Year to all you Maltese dog lovers out there!
I hope you had a great time celebrating and will get to enjoy yet another year with your wonderful Maltese. Marley and
Disco are sad that Christmas is gone (they loved sniffing out their newly wrappped presents under the tree), but are happy to
be back to their normal routine.
If you're looking to add a Maltese to your family this year, or know someone who would like to, check out the new
Featured Pet on the sidebar of our website. It shows a new Maltese waiting for adoption each day.
Question of the Month
We have just received a beautiful baby girl... they told us she was a tiny toy Maltese... do you know how big she will be?

"Here's an easy formula to determine the full grown size of your puppy. Use the weight at about 10 - 12 weeks and double it to get the adult size. Females will be slightly smaller and Males slightly larger. Good luck with your new puppy!"

five easy steps to insure your precious Maltese stays happy and healthy this Winter season.
Avoid exposure to toxins and chemicals such as cigarette smoke and household cleaners.
Make sure your Maltese gets lots of exercise. It's good for their immunity as as well as yours!
Supplement your Maltese's regular dog food with raw meat, fresh vegetables and fruit.
Give your Maltese a nice acupressure massage. Your vet may be able to help you find the specific trigger points to apply pressure to.

January Photo Contest
This year we're going to put a new spin on the "Maltese of the Month" contest. Every month will be a different theme, so be sure to enter
your Maltese or Maltese mixes each month.
Every month we will highlight a new Maltese dog blog. This month's great Maltese blog is from Tease the Maltese.
She keeps you updated with stories about wonderful dogs from the Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue
in Austin Texas. Most recently she talked about the 5 Reasons Obama Should Adopt a Maltese.
Please sponsor a Maltese in need if you can. It's a great cause.
