Maltese Pekingese Mix - Dusty

by Jessica
(Donalsonville, GA, USA)

Dusty is the sweetest dog that I have ever owned. He is a Maltese Pekingese mix and the first small breed that I have ever owned, but I was in a pet shop and every time I would walk by him he would bark at me. Of course that got my attention. I bought him and have never regretted it once.

He is the king of this house. He loves his toys but he doesn't mind sharing with other dogs. At night he sleeps with my boys and if for some reason he is left out of their room he will sit at their door and cry until they give in. We can't refuse him anything.

He is very loyal and loving... everyone should have a Pek-A-Tese at some point in their life!!!

Hello Dusty!
by: LuLu and LoLLy!

Dear Dusty, We are 2 Maltese dogs, and you look very clean despite your name -- you don't look dusty at all! HAHAHA! :) Also, what very white teeth you have! Tell your humans to take care of those teeth with chews and dental products and stuff because it's harder for the little dogs since we have such tiny mouths and its easy for stuff to grow in there! what a happy household it sounds like you live in. Two Paws Up! for the clean Dusty. Love , Your PaLs, LuLu and LoLLy! http://www.luluandlolly.com

sorry
by: Jessica

Sorry I should have added that I got to meet the breeder that Dusty came from. They also own the pet shop where i bought him....I do agree with you that people should check out the breeders of any dog that you buy from a pet shop or pet show. There are so many people out there that just breed dogs for the profit and never stop to think about how the dogs feel or worry about their health.

Dusty is a cutie
by: Anonymous

I'm so glad that Dusty has found a loving home, but my heart skipped a beat when I read you found him in
a pet shop. 97% of pet shop puppies were bred in
puppy mills. Dusty's Mom has probably never been
out of a cage...nor had human contact...she will
live a life of repeated breeding and when she can
no longer breed, she'll likely be shot. PLEASE do
not buy a puppy from a pet shop. Visit where your
puppy was bred. Ask to see the parents. If the
"breeder" has many different breeds, most likely
they are brokers of puppy mill dogs. Best wishes
for Dusty. But next time before you purchase that
adorable puppy in the pet shop, think about the
deplorable conditions the puppy's mother is probably living under.
At least Dusty is saved.
