Shih Tzu Maltese Puppy - Button

Button is the cutest Shihtese you can find. He is now 1.5 years. He likes to take photos and will actually stay still till the photo is taken.

Button has a tint of separation anxiety which can sometimes pull off as being a little too affectionate. He can be very jealous at times of his little brother and sister. Although, with his jealousy, he portrays his "big brother" role by barking off other dogs and would run away instantly if he encounters larger breeds.

Overall, despite his sometimes unnecessary and annoying "barkiness", he is an extremely affectionate dog that brings lots of laughter and fun to the family.

Shih Tzu Maltese Puppy - Azmik

by Shauna Bradley
(Sunshine Coast, Queensland)

My Shih Tzu Maltese puppy Miki is now 16 weeks old and mostly a delight. Training is relatively easy but she is such a people... she does suffer from separation anxiety but ignoring her does tend to work with that. That probably stems from me treating her like a baby too often, but she is improving. I'm yet to clip her so she does get a daily de-prickle, as well as a daily brush. I find she needs trimming around her eyes and bum weekly, especially since I'm not yet clipping her. She tends to bark only when someone is walking past the house or at me when its time for breakfast. All in all she has a beautiful temperament just like her mother, so if you can spend time with the mother before selecting your pup, you should get an indication of what her offspring will become. I took her to puppy preschool as she was very timid around other dogs, and the socialisation worked wonders, now she just wants to play with every dog she sees. Miki is a climber and a jumper. Her mother can jump from a standing start over half way up a screen door so high enough fences are needed for my little one. She is a fantastic companion, and I would recommend a Shih Tzu mix to most people.

Shih Tzu Maltese Puppy - Prynce Edward Tidwell

by Sarrah Tidwell
(New Kensington,PA)

Prynce is something of an unique Shih Tzu Maltese puppy mix. He is truly a royal heir of some sort. He even has a crown and his lair. No robe for his majesty right now being it is so humid but I am positive he will have one fit for Prince by the time fall comes around.

He is very alert but tends to cringe at loud noises. Our home is humid and low key except for when we watch the Dog Whisperer and Animal Planet.

He has a wide variety of toys to play with but right now his favorite seems to be a ball on a rope. My Shih Tzu Maltese mix is so enthusiastic when it comes to that toy which comes to aid right now for his teething. No messed up shoes or furniture. He already knows what no means and what to stay off.

He has his own chambers(his crate) to which he lays asleep and does not cry in it anymore.

Prynce is truly the king of the household so I really hope you enjoy this picture.
