Special Maltipom - Gentle

by Annette
(Queensland, Australia)

My Maltipom is the first dog I've ever owned, and she's fantastic! I think I could of named her "faithful", for she is just that, never leaves my side, always has to have Mum in sight! She is a yapper, barks at pretty much any strange noise she hears, which can be painful at times
(especially for the neighbors).

Gentle gets on well with my children. They all adore her, except at meal times. I have warned the kids not to play or pat Gentle when eating, she can become snappy and possessive of her food (or her treats, bones etc).

Gentle is now 7 months old,and thank God shes out of that puppy stage... she drove us nuts for the first four months! She has grown up that bit more and doesn't rip everything up like she did. Gentle has the most expressive eyes, she knows everything I say and do, she's a true little friend.

I would say a Maltipom is a one person dog, although Gentle loves everyone in our family, everyone knows, it's Mum she wants!

Bogey is my baby
by: Donna

Bogey is my malti pom. I originally wanted a morkie (maltese/yorkie), but once I set eyes on Bogey that was all she wrote. He is very loyal, loves everyone but is definately mom's dog. Goes everywhere with me never leaves my side. I am handicapped in a wheelchair or scooter and he rides on my scooter everywhere I go. He was 1.6 lbs when I got him and at 21 months is only 5 lbs, all hair!! He barks at everything which at times can be trying. He is extremely intelligent and everyone who meets him wants to take him home.

Great Malt-pom
by: Gizmo

I also have a maltipom and have never regretted buying him. He was only 12ozs when bought. I thought he was at least 7 to 8 weeks old but the vet said he was only around 5 weeks to 6 weeks old. It was close to Christmas so they wanted to sell the puppys fast. The dad was a maltese and the mom was a pom and got together by accident. He has been a sweetheart in every way. He is territorial, likes the little ones but not crazy about them. He likes to be the only attention of us. Very picky eater and does not gobble food at all. Barks but only when he hears something strange or some one comes to the door. Sleeps at the foot of the bed and only gets around us if it thunders. I do not reqret buying him at all even though the lady went up on price after I held him (said the paper had mis-printed) I would of paid her twice the amount because once I had him in my arms I would not have let him go. He is a delight to myself and to my husband. He makes us laugh because he takes these little run in circles fits, knocks all the pillows off of my sofa and then lies down like "now it is like I want it." Runs and gets on top of the back of the chair when it thunders. Does not like it at all. They are wonderful dogs -- if any thing happens to him I would buy another one.
