Yorkie Maltese Puppies - Milo

by Linda Grego
(Port St Lucie, FL)

Milo the Morkie puppy

Milo the Morkie puppy

Milo is a 4 1/2 month old Yorkie Maltese puppy. He weighs 3 1/2 lbs, he is so energetic. I love him to death.

We are in the process of potty training, do well when we are home, but has a few accidents when we are work.

He needs a haircut but I am not sure how his hair should be cut. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Morkie hair trims
by: Susan

Milo is so cute. We have our little morkie Belle who just turned 8 months old, she is 6 pounds. I use to trim our Miniature Schnauzer so I figured I could probably trim Belle. I had hoped for a sweet little girl morkie that I could dress and put bows in her hair. Well, Belle is a girl...and sometimes she's really sweet, but the grooming thing is a whole other story! I did clip her hair by just taking the long strands and snippping them off. Her face is what's hard to figure out. We live in Minnesota so Belle wears a sweater when it's chilly. That really makes mats unless you take it off a couple times a day and brush her. Her hair has grown out again and we decided we like it a little longer on her body. She is going to the groomer next week for the first time to get a puppy cut around her face. It does seem to make them keep their puppy looks. Her feet also get trimmed sio we can find her nails. But, Belle has never been there before so I don't know if I should worn the groomer or not. I never brush her without a spray that makes her brush glide through her hair. She is black and white and her hair is deffinately Maltese, very fine and silky. I managed a couple times to get a bow in, one needs about three more hands to do this. It lasted about 15 seconds...then she rolls all over the carpet so her hair stands up from static. She then comes to me and stands up as if to say, "look at me, I'm so cute!" She is, how can I get mad. What ever trim you come up with, your sweetie will look cute no matter what. Enjoy, I have found our Morkie to be the light of my life!
