My mom is a TOTAL shopping fanatic. We were looking for cute dog names and she kept bringing up names like "Chanel, Prada, Gucci" until I couldn't take it anymore. She then thought of TJ Maxx and we decided to name him TJ. Cute, huh?

My partner and I were at a truck stop somewhere and there are often many little dogs as travel companions for truckers, anyway, he spotted some little dog, jumping and dancing about and he said to me, "there's a cute little jigger" and I just thought... hmmm.... what a cute dog name, so it was added to my dog name list which I was creating for my son's future dog.

As it turned out he liked this name the best of the lot, and as it also turned out, suited his little puppy, which we acquired some 3 or 4 months later. He is part Maltese and part Poodle with a smidge of Chihuahua, but to look at him, he looks completely Maltese.

We were looking for other cute dog names. While we were in the car we were talking about Oreo Cookies & every time I said Cookie she looked at me, so I thought it'd be perfect since she already responds to it!

Cute Dog Names - Chowder

Here is how I accidentally got a Maltese dog with the cute dog name of Chowder. A lady I worked with saw a picture of my Maltese Shih Tzu (Jake, the love of my life) on my computer her first day of work and said she would love to have a puppy like that.

Long story not so short, I bred my female Maltese (Abby) so my sister could have a Maltese. The studs family got the first puppy, my sister the second and if there was a third I told my co-worker (Joan) she could have the puppy. I did not charge anyone for the puppies. I wanted them all to have loving homes. Abby had three puppies on Dec. 8, 2008. Sam went to the studs (Ricky) family. Chili went to my sister, brother-in-law and their other dog Pepper.

Chowder was going to live with Joan and her two teenage children, however Chowder was born with only three legs. He has a stub on the right front. My husband fell in love with him as did I. After many long hours of consideration I spoke with Joan. Her daughter had named Chowder before he was born. I asked if it was Chowder they wanted or just a puppy. I worried about her teenage son and friends teasing Chowder. I went to my groomer and asked her to send pictures of the puppies they had for sale at the time. A local specialty store who only deals in small dogs, bread locally. They only sell puppies whom they personal go to the breeders homes to inspect the home, stud and bitch. They do not ship any dogs.

Joan and her daughter picked out a Chi-weenie, Tobi, whom they love dearly. It cost me $500.00 to keep Chowder. He is the sweetest, lovable dog ever. He runs up and down the stairway faster than Jake or Abby, he runs at the park. Some people don't even notice his missing leg. I know later in life it will be hard on his hips but we wouldn't trade him for anything. Ironically I'm not crazy about his name but it is a cute dog name and fits him perfectly.

We decided on this cute dog name for our Maltese Cricket. He hops like a cricket and it is my husbands nick name too! We think it is one of the cutest dog names out there.

Cute Dog Names - Sweet Pea

My Maltese dog was so sweet and loving. Being all white, he reminded me of Popeye's little nephew, Sweet Pea, crawling around in his little white gown. In addition, I think it is just a precious name for a very precious much loved Maltese.

I used to love the TV show Peanuts about Charlie Brown and his friends and his dog, Snoopy. I just think that Snoopy is so adorable. Since my Maltese is white and I loved the cartoon Snoopy, I named him Snoopy.
