Gizmo is 8.5 years old and bigger than what was thought at 14.5 pounds but not fat. He has been the best dog that we have ever had. Easy to train, very smart, loving, obedient, almost human. He’ s not a guard dog and really doesn’t bark much, is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks. The vet has said that he has a heart that beats a little differently. I would really encourage new pet owners to start introducing the toothbrush from day one. Gizmo has lost three teeth and it is very expensive having them cleaned not to mention an emotional roller coaster. To us he is irreplaceable and we treasure the time we have with him. He does not shed but we keep his hair short in the summer. I highly recommend this breed if you are looking for a snuggly teddy bear that will return in spades the love shown to them. “WARNING”, it is scary to be so attached to a dog that we are to Gizmo.
