My Little Genie

Genie....my little angel

I lost my Dad at the end of May of 2007. To help my Mom have someone else to love and care for I decided to find her a Maltese puppy.

I was advised by my daughter that they were wonderful, loving puppies as a couple of her friends had them. When I found a local breeder I told my Mom on Father's Day that we were going to a "new" store and took her to see the puppies so I could buy her one.

Little did I know that I too would end up with my own Maltese puppy. I just couldn't resist Genie when she crawled right up on my lap and didn't move the whole time we were there.

I named mine Genie for my Dad, whose middle name was Eugene. My Mom named hers Bonbon for my sister Bonnie who had also passed away less than two years earlier.

Genie and Bonbon have brought me and my Mom so much fun and love. We still feel our loss, but our puppies have made it so much easier to keep on living and smiling. We get the two sisters together several times a week for play dates and sleepovers. They are such a wonderful addition to our lives.

Genie goes to work with me four days a week and warns every one when a new customer is in the office by barking quite loudly for a little 5 lb. puppy! The office staff love her and she makes them laugh too. My little Genie makes the world a happier place. :D

My little Genie makes the world a happier place. :D
I bet she does Ruth and I know Bonbon makes your Mom happyier. I love all dogs and when Frank goes I am going to have a houseful but for now I will love my little and old Poodle Dutchie. Joe's new girl keeps wanting me to take a long hair dashound named "Frank".....duh, like I don't have enough of them around. They don't shed either (Frank's big problem). I had Joe's big American Bulldog over tonight while Frank shot pool (I sneak) but I put the brat back because he jumped off the sofa at my Dutchie in a mean way......none of that.
Continue enjoying little doggies and I enjoyed seeing a pic of yours. Love ya!

Because you make everyones wishes come true, when someone in your house hold is sad, you present your bright little charm, give them your kisses and love, then the hurt is gone.

You are very lucky to have 2 little beauties to love. My sweet baby, Angel, went to Heaven last Tuesday. She was 13 + years old and the very best friend and companion that I've ever had. I miss her every minute of the day.

So, enjoy your puppies, and have lots of fun with them.

Hello,
I would like to add to the comments about Genie. I am a dog lover, but, a big dog lover.
My furry best friend is an old english sheep dog, and I would have never thought of a little dog to be so pleasant, funny and loving. Genie is not a small YAP dog by no means, she is a little dog with a big heart, soul and a bark to match. Smiling~
I am now sold on this minature Malteese and I look forward to having one of my own some day.
Genie represents her breed well.

I just love the pic of you little Genie...she is so beautiful. It is so wonderful that you were able to do some mending on your heart as well as your mothers with these precious pups! My Maisie is the most loving little girl in the world. A big Congrats on winning Maltese of the month! What a truely deserving furbaby!!...and you too!! Congrats! Congrats!
