Naturally Tear Free Canine

by Trina Blankenship
(Charlotte, NC)

I have visited your site a couple of times looking for a solution to tear stains. I found the solution and wanted to share it. I live in Charlotte, NC and was visiting a locally owned pet store where this product was recommended to me. It works!!!!! Just follow the directions.

After following the directions carefully, I now give the product to my Maltese once a month just to keep in her system. It is all natural ingredients and is a patented product. It works for tear stains and stains on the muzzle. You can sprinkle on food or I mix mine in plain non fat yogurt and my Maltese laps it up. She was more suspicious when it was on her food. I saw results in two weeks!!!!

You can go to their website at naturallytearfreecanine.com or I believe you can buy it on Amazon. Sorry I can't attach a photo at this time but I will come back and send one later. I sent my photos to my pet store to use and then deleted them thinking I wouldn't need them again. I have asked them to forward them back to me. I carefully read reviews of this product and even called the ladies that make it. They were delightful to speak with and very open to answering my questions.

In the reviews that say it doesn't work, I truly believe directions were not followed. You cannot take short cuts or give more than is recommended, longer than is recommended. Just follow the directions.

Angels Glow Removes Tear Stains

by Susan
(Lake Wylie, SC)

Isabella -- 9 weeks old

Isabella -- 9 weeks old

The Angels Glow powder was recommended by the breeder. Several of her dogs are pictured in the before and after examples. It worked like a charm -- no eye stains after about two weeks. Now I have reduced the dose and it is still working. This is expensive stuff but I'm finding that one large bottle (about $90) will last for a year.

Angels Glow Really Works

by Bruce
(Chapel Hill, NC)

Angels Glow is much better than other products I have tried. Lucy is a Malti-poo that is all white except: one ear is white, one is black. There is a small black patch on the opposite side of the black ear. She is twelve and people always ask how old is your puppy? Extremely cute with black eyes (marble like), black nose and those ears. The first week use Angels Glow after each meal, then every other day after that and it really works. Never thought I would like a small dog; however she is the best, cute, great personality, does not shed, very playful with kids, especially 4 and up. She has never even snapped at anyone. Great dog.

Eye Envy

by Denise Smith
(Bloomfield, NJ, USA)

I read about all the different products and I decided to try Eye Envy because it was all natural and I didn't want something I had to feed my dog. I have very satisfied with the results. I had to use it everyday for about 2 weeks and now I only use it 2-3 times a week as maintenance. I recommend this product.

I tried Angel eyes, purified drinking water etc to no avail. Total waste of money. Now this product works! I recommend this 100% I use a foam makeup wedge to apply the liquid instead of the eye pads they sell.

Reduce Tear Staining with That Tear Stain Stuff

by Holly
(Midwest)

Before

Before

Porter has always had tear staining in his fur. I used Angel's Eyes for a while with our dog, Porter, but it was expensive and I decided to try something different.

That Tear Stain Stuff also works as I put on top of food. After 2 weeks I had noticeable results as the white hair started growing out.

I also noticed that his feet were reddish from the start but whitened up as well. I am very impressed and have had excellent results.

Extra Strength Tear Stain Formula by Merit

My wife and I tried all the routine measures from food to water, vinegar, etc... A groomer/breeder told us about a couple of over the counter products that we tried. Of the products we tried, Extra Strength Tear Stain Formula by Merit Pet Products, LLC worked incredibly well. My pup loved the taste, and it worked in only a few weeks!! The picture shows how great the results were.

Good luck!!

Optrex for Tear Staining

by Jill

I use Optrex everyday to wash around the eyes. Optrex is an antibiotic eye drop. This has lightened the staining and has stopped any more staining.

Clear Tears Tear Stain Remover

I tried Clear Tears on my little Maltese and I was quite impressed. After only 2 weeks I started seeing an improvement. The hair around her eye area started to clear up. I have been using this product for a little over a year now and highly recommend it.

Angel's Eyes NEW
by: Anonymous

I tried diet, bottled water, tear stain wipes- you name it. I finally decided to go with Angel's Eyes. My Maltese eventually turned Snow White and no stains anywhere.

Somebody must have complained about the Tylosin in it because it is no longer available. Now she again has the tear stains, copper colored muzzle and front paws where she licks.

My vet assured me that the amt of Tylosin was so small, it would do no harm. I bought some some Tear Stain soft chews almost 6 was ago but no change yet. 😟

Tear Plex is Worthless NEW
by: AK

This product is totally worthless. My Maltese was responding GREAT to Angel's Eyes (which by the way our vet says is fine to give her) but I panicked and took her off it and got Tear Plex. I was on bottle # 3 with my Maltese looking like hell- DREADFUL red tear stains, when I gave up and got Angel's Eyes again. I contacted Nutra Vista Health, the company that sells this stuff, and they would not take a return because it had been longer than 30 days. However, their own site says it may take 5-6 weeks to work. So chalk this one up to money down the drain to yet another scam Florida company.

Tearplex not Working

I have 2 6lb. Maltese and I put them both on Tearlax/Tearplex after taking them off Angels' Eyes because of the Tylosin. I had them off Angels' Eyes Tear-Stain Eliminator for Dogs a month as recommended and started Tearplex. Its been 7 weeks and I don't see it working. The 2 dogs are from different litters so its not genetics. I think Tearplex is unbelievably expensive for no results and I'm thinking about going back to Angel Eyes. I have one more bottle of Tearplex and will finish it but its been 7 full weeks and there are no results on Tearplex.

Update 8 months later re Tearplex NEW
by: Lisa

Tearplex has been the solution for our Maltese. We used it back in July (see previous posting). We have not had to do another round since then, and his eyes are still not stained. When we used Angel Eyes, the stains always reappeared after discontinuing usage. So high price for Tearplex vs Angel Eyes is justified in our opinion.

If you're concerned about giving your dog antibiotics, I would suggest trying Tearplex, based solely on our very positive experience. Our vet was not keen on the daily dose of antibiotics found in Angel Eyes. Look online for Tearplex,as it's been renamed. From what I've read in this thread, doesn't seem to work for all Malteses, but it has for ours.

Angel eyes verses tearlax NEW
by: Anonymous

Any negative comment you find online regarding Angel Eyes, is coming from a marketing company from Tearlex. Do the reasearch! It's easy to follow the URLS .
My Vet told me use Angel eyes on my dog who just recently started to get the red stains around his eyes. He never had them before, however we had an adopted new dog who did suffer from tear stains, and they shared the dosage water bowl. Anyway, my Vet recommend Angel Eyes. It's not safe for puppies, and once the tear stains are gone you stop using it. Please read and reasearch products, however the most important is CONSULT your vet.

Angels eyes user for 6 years NEW
by: Anonymous

Just read reviews of angels eyes to see a ADD Warning By the company tear stain center.com??? I don't trust any company that does not have a phone # on there site??? they say that "angels eyes has Tylosin Tartrate not recommended for your dog??? we only recommend you use our product Tearplex"???...They also say that Tearplex is less expensive??? Angels eyes is $60 for a 240 gram bottle. Tearplex is 3 60 gram bottles total 180 grams for $99??? Tearplex states that a dose for a 12 pound dog is 1 teaspoon. Angles eyes dose for same 12 pound dog 1/4 of a Teaspoon??? I have absolutely great results with angels eyes a company you can call and talk to that seems to have good results. My havanese is 8 years old been using angels eyes for 7 years and in perfect health.

Tearplex is working after less than a month
by: Anonymous

Our Maltese has been on the renamed Tearplex (was Tearlax) for less than a month, and we are seeing a noticeable improvement already. His tear stains were moderate, not severe. But looks like this is doing the trick for our dog. It seems like one product or solution doesn't work on all dogs, but this one works on ours.

Tearlax is now Tearplex
by: Lisa

We stopped using Angel Eyes on our Maltese out of concern about the antibiotics. It had worked on his eye stains. We switched to Tearlax and it worked as well. I tried to reorder it when his stains eventually returned, but the product had vanished!

Tried NaturVet Tear Stain chews. Didn't seem to do much, though only on it for a month.

Finally on the umpteenth Google search, I found "Tearplex." Same price, etc. I think they may have been forced to change their name by a company with the same name (sheer speculation on my part here). Just started it today. I'll update this comment in a couple of months to say whether or not it worked on our dog this time around, name change and all.

Tearlax does nothing
by: Anonymous

Heartened by the bold promos & positive reviews, I bought the 3 bottle "special" of Tearlax, happy to pay the high price for a good product that was going to work without Tylosin! After administering it religiously for several weeks, I wrote to report no results, and received a reply saying I hadn't given the product enough time to work. I "bought into" that sales pitch, too, and kept using the Tearlax for MONTHS. After all that time, Tearlax has not worked at all for our Maltese -- has had no effect whatsoever. It's an expensive product that promised much and delivered for us precisely nothing.

Tearlax = 0 effect, nada, zilch
by: Anonymous

I "took advantage" of the offer to spend roughly $100 to get the 3 bottles of Tearlax delivered quickly so I could get started giving it to our then-11 week old newly acquired Maltese puppy. Tearlax was, when I was searching, by far the most expensive product out there claiming to help with tear stains, so it couldn't possibly be totally ineffective, right? It is quite thoroughly, totally, completely ineffective -- of no help at all - has done nothing, zip, zilch. I suppose I should be thankful as I did read after purchasing it that it has made some people's Maltese puppies violently ill. It hasn't made her sick, but it has done NOTHING to help the tear-staining problem. That was quite a chunk of $ for such great promises -- such promises as to have kept me adding it to her food religiously for MONTHS & MONTHS now (I wrote to complain of no effect after several weeks & received a reply saying I hadn't given it long enough to work), all of which has done nothing to help with the tear staining -- nothing at all. =(
