Maltese Pekingese - Phoebe
by Berlin

Phoebe just turned two! We love our Maltese Pekingese dearly. She is the smartest dog and very sensitive, jealous too! It would never work out if we had children because she IS the child of our house and needs all of our attention! (I suppose that's our fault!!) Her Mother was a Maltese and her Father was a Maltese - Pekingese, 50/50. She's not a barker but she will alert you if someone is here to visit. She understands most of the English language I think, did I say she was smart??!! Very! Lisa took the descriptive words right out of my mouth in her post about Pika, I think I have her clone! Thank you everyone for sharing your comments and pictures. We truly think the Peke-a-Tese is the best little dog to own and if I my hubby (and Phoebe) would let me, I would own more than one!!

Maltese Pekingese - Sissy

Our Maltese Pekingese is the cutest dog in the world! She is pure white. She loves everyone in our family but is especially loyal to me(mom)! She has been a bit hard to potty train but she is now 8 months and has very few accidents. She isn't a lap dog. She loves to play and loves kids. She has a lot of energy. She gets sling really well with our other 2 dogs which are huge Newfies! All and all we love this dog and would recommend a Maltese Pekingese mix! Lots of fun and absolutely adorable:)

Maltese Pekingese - Mickey
by Mickey's Mom

Sept. 20, 1996 - Feb. 22, 2011
This is so hard to write, but I want to submit an update on our sweet little Maltese Pekingese mix, Mickey. He passed away here at home Feb. 22, 2011. As I have said before, he had a heart murmur. Last Oct. the vet put him on blood pressure and diuretic pills to help his breathing. He did okay until about two weeks before he passed. He was frisky one night and the next day he started not wanting to eat as much and lost weight. He had good days and some bad days, but he always went around with us during our routine here in the house and went to potty outside. The day he passed, I thought he was having a pretty good day and he even barked at a neighbor. But late that afternoon we were in the living room and Mickey was in his little soft bed. When he got up he collasped and had a seizure. My husband and I got down on the floor and comforted him until his last breath. He seemed to be unconscious so I hope he didn't suffer. We put him in his little bed curled up on his side and covered him with a little quilt I had made for him. We also added some of his favorite things. Our Maltese Pekingese looked like a little angel laying there. We put it in a heavy duty plastic container and sealed it. He joined our little Malti-Poo in our back yard.
Mickey was 14 years and 5 months old. We had him for almost 10 years. Needless to say we are heartbroken. He was a sweet and gentle dog and we truly loved him. His little spirit will always be with us.
