Maltese Shihtzu - Riley
by Heidi
(Niles, MI, USA)
My little sweet!
Riley is as close to the perfect dog as I can imagine! She is a small 3 year old Maltese Shihtzu, or Malshi, and absolutely loves to be cuddled and loved!!! She will sit with you and relax, but is just as excited about going outside and for walks as her sister Bella is! My Maltese Shihtzu mix enjoys the outdoors tremendously and would stay out day and night if only I would stay out with her! The two of these girls complete my life!

Maltese Shihtzu - Sake
by Sara
(Wilmington, NC)
Sake is a gentle little Maltese Shihtzu boy. He loves to cuddle but can also be very independent (he sleeps on the floor eventually each night after cuddling in the bed).
He was brown & white when he was a puppy but his brown patches have faded to a much lighter color now that he is almost 2. Our Maltese Shihtzu mix weighs about 13 pounds and gets along well with our Golden Lab and Bos-Pin.
Sake barks whenever he hears activity at or around the door and when he gets excited while playing with our other dogs, however he barks rarely otherwise. Sake is a wonderful dog and adapts well to strangers and children.

Maltese Shihtzu - Cosmo
by Alexis
(Arkansas)
We got our Maltese Shihtzu Cosmo in August of 2009 after much research on the internet. We wanted a fun, spunky, little, family dog, and that is exactly what we got! Cosmo loves to run, jump, play fetch, and chew on his bone. He loves to give kisses and to be cuddled! He loves to be with his family!
He gets along with other dogs. We have a Great Dane he loves to play with and a feisty little Chihuahua who has just accepted that he is here to stay. Our Maltese Shihtzu likes going for rides in the car, and does well on a leash! We have two girls who are 5 and 2 and he is very good with them.
Cosmo's mom is a full Maltese and his dad is a Malshi. He is still a puppy so he does at times play rough, but not mean! He will scratch on the door and let us know he needs to go out, but he is still a puppy and does have accidents. He likes to chew, and we have to watch to make sure he doesn't have any of the girls toys. A few barbies are missing hands and feet! OOPs! Once we figured out how much he loves his bones we keep those on hand and he will chew on them for hours!!
He does need frequent baths due to his white feet, and needs to be groomed more than a short haired dog. But we try to keep our Maltese Shih Tzu in a "puppy cut" so he keeps short hair. His hair is very soft! We love our Cosmo and are soooo very glad we have him in our family!

Maltese Shihtzu - Pookie Boo
by Febry
(Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia)
My new t-shirt
I got my Maltese Shihtzu Pookie Boo 2 months ago as a birthday present from my husband. She's 3 months old now.
At first, I was scared that it'd be hard to train her, but oh my...she is a smart and loving little puppy. She mastered 3 tricks in the last 3 weeks: sit, up (to stand on her hind legs), and down (to lay down). Every time we leave the house without her, no matter if it's 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 5 days... she'll greet us like it's been months since we've been gone... make us feel welcomed in our own home :)
We live in Bali where it can be really humid at night, so our Maltese Shihtzu sleeps in the bedroom with us where it's air conditioned. And every morning she'd stand up against the edge of the bed and whine until we got up and give her some attention. And when we open our eyes, there she is peeking up looking at us with half her face hidden by the mattress... lol.
Our Maltese Shihtzu is one hell of a "princess dog", very jealous and demands attention from everybody. She's friendly, naughty, smart, brave, playful, loving, energetic, curious, and we just can't imagine our home without her.

Maltese Shihtzu - Bosco & Gracie
by Cathleen

Bosco & Gracie in Christmas Finery
These Maltese Shihtzu dogs are fabulous. The best of the Maltese and best of the Shih Tzu. They are playful, but also love to chill with me while I work from home.
I highly, highly recommend this mixed breed. Bosco was an "accident" but just a wonderful accident that 8 months later, Gracie was born. So they are pure brother and sister. What a blessing our Maltese Shihtzus have been to us.

Maltese Shihtzu - Peregrin Took AKA Pippin
by Megan
(Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Australia)
Pippin, our Maltese Shihtzu, is the most affectionate and loyal dog I could have ever found! I only originally decided to get a dog for my children, but completely and utterly fell in love with him.
He greets me every afternoon after work with such excitement and never leaves my side even when I am trying to type on the computer! My lap is my Maltese Shihtzu's first port of call the moment I sit down. Every time I look into those incredible big brown eyes, I fall more in love with him!
The Malshi is the most loyal, faithful, loving and amazing mixed breed anyone could have as part of their family.

Maltese Shihtzu - Mona Lisa
by Colleen Burnham
(Amesbury, MA, USA)
Billy's best friend/ Mascot
Our Maltese Shihtzu loves to run as fast as I can as long as I can, while still smelling the flowers. She loves to take a bath and then run like a mad woman afterwards to dry off. She is a riot to watch run round and round. We love to have our Malshi Mona Lisa. She is like the famous painting, is sometimes moody and hard to understand, while still being a sweet lap dog.
