Maltese Shitzu Puppies - Harpo
by Michelle Johnson
(Owensboro, KY.)
Harpo is one of the best 3 1/2 month old Maltese Shitzu puppies and he is absolutely adorable. I fell in love with him from the moment I first laid eyes on him. Harpo is extremely friendly and loves all people as well as other dogs.
For the most part my Maltese Shitzu puppy is pretty laid back; his favorite location in our home is underneath an ottoman, and he goes there for naps and to escape from my daughters!
Ollie is one of the best Maltese Shitzu puppies and such a precious addition to our home! I can't imagine not having him here. He is so smart........loves EVERYONE........and such a lap dog! He was very easy to potty train... mostly uses wee wee pads. Actually he did it on his own from the moment we got him, so we can't take any credit for that:) Our Maltese Shitzu puppy is 18 months old now with a brand new puppy cut....and he knows he looks adorable... people tell him wherever we go. His favortite outing is to Lowe's... they actually love seeing him come!
Maltese Shitzu puppies are adorable mixes. He is white with shades of beige very playful and fun loving my little prince was easy to house break with constant corrective actions and leading him to the wee-wee pad. He will eventually get it!
Clever as my Maltese Shitzu puppy is, he runs with my socks under the bed and during laundry day I thought the machine ate them all. When I called Prince from under the bed he came out with 4 pairs of socks in his mouth wagging his tail ready to play tug.
His personality is amazing, he cries to be bathed and tries to jump into the tub everyday. Loves water and swimming. Oh, he is 2 months old and a handful (in a good way) he knows how to sit and roll over already.
Only problem I can say is that my Maltese Shitzu likes to wake up at around 4am or 5am to play once I feed him and go to bed he tugs on the blanket to wake you up. Once you are up. He tense to go back to sleep. Clever little thing! Prince is very friendly with dogs and loves playing with kids supervised of course because they are little. Perfect bundle of joy!
My baby is one of the most stubborn Maltese Shitzu puppies, and lazy. She is 5 months old, but I'm just confused. Her hair doesn't grow longer. Any help with my Maltese Shitzu puppy?
Piggy and Sadie are the Maltese Shitzu puppies of my 2 adult Malshis, Snoopy and Maggie. They are such a joy to have around. They are loyal, fun loving, playful and smart. They love playing with each other and with the cats. They are a tad jealous of each other and other dogs- including their siblings who occasionally visit.
They do require grooming- brushing and bathing because of their light coat- they are little dirt magnets. Their brother and Sister both had black markings on them; where these 2 are blond with tan markings.
My Maltese Shitzu puppies love to have their picture taken and love to be close to you- sitting on your lap- or napping close to you. I would be lost without my sweet girls and their parents!
Wolf, one of our Maltese Shitzu puppies, was born February 17/2010. He weighs just over two pounds in these pictures and is 8 weeks old. He is so loving and his temperament so far is friendly and alert. I will update as he grows. You can not help falling in love with these Maltese Shitzu dogs.
The black and white one is Wolf... aka Harley now...lol.. and the light colored carmel one is angel which I have put a thing in on too. Angel barely weighs a pound... at 9 weeks old.
Brodie is now 10 months old... and is one of the smartest Maltese Shitzu puppies. He knows all the names of his various toys and loves to play with them. His best bud right now is our cat and they love each others company as they could play all day long. House breaking was a bit of an issue for Brodie but once he was neutered he never did his business in the house again. We love our little Maltese Shitzu furbaby!
Nikki is one of the sweetest and most loving Maltese Shitzu puppies!! She loves to cuddle and kiss you right on the lips! She also is very smart, 3 1/2 months and doogie door trained.
I am so happy with her and so is my husband (who was wery at first). We have fallen in love with our Maltese Shitzu puppy!!
Chico is 4 months old. He's the greatest of all Maltese Shitzu puppies ever! He's really smart. I love him so much, he's also the cutest Maltese Shitzu puppy ever, but I may be a little biased ;)
Chowder is one of the cutest Maltese Shitzu puppies that I adopted 3 weeks ago. He is 19 weeks and came from a family that could not find the time to take care of him. I find this apparent now that I have brought him home.
He gets along great with my other two dogs, a Maltipoo and Shih Tzu Lasa Apso mix however he BITES! When I got him his teeth were starting to come in, now they all seem to be there but he still nips! Training him has also been pretty difficult, he's been eating his own feces! He also, unfortunately, came with hookworms. I have got him on the right treatment and am not giving up hope on my little man.
He's extremely playful (they say puppies sleep 19 hrs. a day? NOT this one) very smart, and alert as well as hilarious! My Maltese Shitzu puppy loves his "yummies" and meal times, has just started on his walks, and is really a big personality! If you have any tips Chowder would love to know!
Since getting one of the cutest Maltese Shitzu puppies Lola about a month ago, I have to say she has really stolen our hearts. She has soft, straight, beautiful white hair, with a brown spot on her face, ear, and rump.
She is a sweet, sweet girl, very friendly and affectionate. She's very playful, and absolutely loves to fetch her ball. She started doing that almost immediately when we got her, and it's her favorite game.
She loves to cuddle and snuggle when she's sleepy, and is full of energy when she's awake. Our Maltese Shitzu puppy is also very clever and learns almost anything quickly when there is a treat involved.
I wish our cats liked her. She wants to be their playmate so badly, but they are just not having it.
We love her more each day, and are looking forward to watching her learn and grow as time goes by.
I tried putting him in there the other day, just to see if he'd still fit....No Way! Ain't he adorable!
Prince has been by far one of the best Maltese Shitzu puppies and little bundle of joy I have ever had other than my four beautiful girls, and now, he has become my fifth child, and only son!
He is so full of life, energy and love. He is playful, spontaneous, and very energetic. We got him when he was six weeks old and have had him now for right at a month. I couldn't be happier that he is apart of our family.
This picture is when we first got our Maltese Shitzu, he was so little he fit in the pocket of my bathrobe, he's sleeping quite nicely there, looks comfy and cozy huh!?
My husband bought one of the cutest Maltese Shitzu puppies named Mister for me since for the time being, we have been unsuccessful with having a baby. He quickly became a "daddy's boy." This hurts mommy's feelings since I am the one that feeds him, bathes him, takes him outside, etc. I am also the one that has does the majority of the disciplining since we got him. I had him potty-trained in a month. Mister is VERY smart. He quickly learned to patiently stand by the door when he has to potty. He is now almost 6 months old and still has a few accidents, but mostly when Daddy is too busy playing PS3 to hear him at the door.
Mister listens to me pretty well, but he has his "spoiled only child" moments. All in all, my Maltese Shitzu puppy is a good dog. But, he doesn't handle aggrivation well at all! I sometimes will pick at him and he has started showing me his teeth when I do :(
I guess my feelings are hurt because as bad as I want a child, I wanted Mister to love me. Which I am sure he does, he just has a "unique" way of showing it.
Jasper is an adorable Maltese Shitzu puppy or Malshi, just over one year old. He was adopted at 10 months from a shelter & had to be separated from his sibling for the first time in his life. It was a big adjustment, but well worth it for both of us.
He is gentle, intelligent, and curious. He plays well with my 2 year old granddaughter & 4 year old grandson. He loves all other dogs (& other creatures) & loves to play & socialize at Doggy Day Care while I work during the day.
Jasper is patient, allows me to bathe and blow-dry him without complaining or trying to escape. This task was always an ordeal with other dogs I have owned in the past. He is a great walker & enjoys long hikes with me. He is healthy & strong, weighs about 18 pounds.
He loves the car and lets me know when he wants to go into the car for a "time-out" when the grand-children are too rambunctious and he needs a rest. He climbs up on the back window ledge & snoozes until he builds up his energy for more playing.
Jas knows his commands and needs a consistent, firm, but gentle, approach to keep him remembering them. He loves all kinds of toys so is a fun dog to play with. He is not destructive and not a barker. He will alert me if something unusual is happening outside but doesn't bark routinely or crazily at any sound.
I would recommend this mixed breed to anyone who wants a gentle, loving, and teachable pet who is good with small children and other animals.
Bella is one of the best Maltese Shitzu puppies and a wonderful addition to our family. She has a very playful attitude loves to be near us at all times she enjoys going for walks and playing in the snow. Bella is great with other animals as well as children. Our Maltese Shitzu puppy is 15 weeks old right now and absolutely the best dog we have ever had. She knows sit and stay already.
Before he got the Puppy cut, now you can see his eyes!
Ziggy is the cutest of all Maltese Shitzu puppies, 5 months old, and a bundle of joy! Potty training him was a breeze. He learned to use the wee wee pad within a week and 2 weeks later started letting us know when he is ready to go out. He is great with other dogs, loves to play and jump around, already knows how to fetch, sit and shake.
Best thing is my Maltese Shitzu puppies temperament; he will play with you for as long as you can keep up with him, but when he knows nobody wants to play, he brings his toys and plays by himself or sleeps.
He likes meeting new people and loves belly rubs. He is not much of a lap dog but gives no problems when people want to pick him up and pet him. He hardly sheds and is very smart, eager to learn and playful. Very glad we did the research on Maltese Shih Tzu puppies and found a local breeder.
We got one of the best Maltese Shitzu puppies named Dallas when he was 6 weeks old and have loved him ever since. He loves to go outside and play and does very well with other dogs.
He always has to be with someone which can be annoying every now and then and when he hears the garage door open he immediately goes to the door to wait for the person.
Our Maltese Shitzu puppy was not a car rider for a while, he would throw up on the way and then on the way back, but now he does fine and just sits there.
Wilbur is the most adorable dog in the world. I love Maltese Shitzu puppies. He is now 18 months but he still looks like a fur baby, he is about 13lbs. He says the cutest things and purrs like a kitty. He is very smart. Last night my Dalmatian threw up and he brought me a towel! He senses all hurt, anxiety and he comforts that person, even friends that might come over.
My Maltese Shitzu puppy is so friendly to everyone, especially children, and he is gentle with the small children and plays a little harder with the older children. His hair is incredibly soft with silky curls. He has never been sick. He plays well with other dogs especially if they are his size. He is the happiest, best behaved dog. stops barking when asked. He has an amazing bladder, he has not had any accidents in a year, He was very easy to housebreak. I wish I had not had him fixed because there should be more dogs like him. I have asked his breeder to notify me when she breeds his parents again, so far, the mother has not come into season again.
No one would ever let these guys out of their sight, much less abandon one. And if one somehow got lost, he wouldn't be homeless for a minute. I have had people follow me home, leave notes on my car, approach me at parks, stores, cars stop and ask about him. He is THAT DROP DEAD Gorgeous.
My Maltese Shitzu is the most beautiful, loving, easy going dog I have ever had the pleasure of living with, btw, I have fostered over 20 dogs and owned 8 dogs in my lifetime of almost 50 years, and this is the BEST dog for companionship and beauty, family friend. He cost $650 and worth double that, I have seen puppies of this type for as low as $300 and as much as $1200. They are a mix that needs to be formalized. My husband has named the new breed a Wilburstein, after our Wilbur.
I have a delightful 5 month old Malshi who is one of the cutest Maltese Shitzu puppies and is going to be desexed on Thursday. She lives with me of course as well as Gambit an Australian Shepherd, Bree-Anna a Himalayan Tabby Short hair cat and Maxamillion a ginger tabby medium hair cat.
Jorja has been very quick to understand the rules of the house with the exception of being toilet trained. Aghhhhh, she is the first dog I've ever had that hasn't been toilet trained within a few weeks. She is getting there only because she is crated at night.
I am also training her for obedience and she can sit, drop, stand, down, leave it, fetch, get it, wait, come etc.
She will be introduced to the fun of Obedience, Tracking, Flyball, Tricks, Doggy Freestyle, Agility to name just a few. My Maltese Shitzu puppy is Clicker trained with food or just food depending on what she is being taught.
She has a stubborn streak as in I'm not going to go on lead, I don't want to go outside, I just won't get in the car etc, and we are both working through that.
The first few weeks of Puppy Kinder she shut down, and now knows how to stand up for herself. I'm glad my Malshi attended the classes as I often think of how she would have been if she hadn't been socialised.
She is a bit worrying sometimes when she takes on a Rotti and or a Lab pup that is twice her size and pushing he to the limit. Then she attacks with force. The Rotti wouldn't come near her anymore. The Lab kept trying but gave up in the end too.
Jameel is now a 14 month old Maltese Shitzu puppy, it only took a few days to potty train him. His mother is a Maltese while his father is a Shitzu, he had 4 other siblings, but we noticed that he was the biggest and heaviest among them.
Jameel took sometime and build up courage to go down the stairs. It was very easy for him to go up. My Maltese Shitzu puppy barks a lot, but is very friendly.
