Our Maltese x Shitzu Bo is a great little guy. He has more personality than any other dog that I've owned. He loves to play, and when he's tired, he loves to go to bed with mama. Bo is the first dog I've seen who watches TV on a regular basis. He will lie on the floor watching TV, sometimes for an entire show or movie. He especially enjoys watching anything that has animals, and when he sees animals on TV, he runs to the TV and jumps against it, barking. He weighs only about 16-18 pounds, but he throws himself at the TV so hard that he actually blew the back out of our last TV stand. People think he's crazy when they're visiting and he suddenly flies against the TV, barking like he's crazy.
In July we got another dog, a rottweiler puppy (Rosie). Though Rosie is now 3 times Bo's size, Bo maintains the alpha dog status and has no problem reminding Rosie that he's the boss. He will play mind games with Rosie just to irritate her. If Rosie is chewing on a rawhide and walks away from it, Bo will grab it and put it in a particular place and then guard it (because he has no intention of chewing it or playing with it). If Rosie comes near the rawhide, Bo will block her, growl, chase her until we finally tell him to let her have it. Then he walks away and acts like it was his idea. Bo also loves to play hide-n-seek, but only with our daughter. She will hide in the house while we cover Bo's eyes. As soon as she is hidden, we say, "Find Kelli," and he will run through the house until he finds her, sometimes taking up to 15 minutes if she finds a really clever spot. Our other dogs have never figured out how to play the game - they just chase Bo and bark because they don't get it. Also, after Bo has a bath, he does what we call the "idiot run" through the house. Our Maltese x Shitzu is like a little Tazmanian Devil, which scares Rosie because he doesn't normally act so crazy. He tries to play with her, but she's busy trying to get out of his way.
I'm a huge dog lover, but I have to say that our Maltese cross Shih tzu Bo is my favorite dog of all time because he's a lover, he likes to play, and he's so entertaining to watch.

Bentley is a Maltese x Shitzu who will turn 1 on Sept 25th. She loves to play with all types of dogs and people and especially likes to play "rocket dog" in the back yard. "Rocket Dog" consists of her running in large circles and zig zags across the back yard.
Bentley loves to take walks. When we ask her if she wants to go for a walk, she perks up and gets super excited. She gets so excited she shakes and runs to the front door. Our Maltese Shitzu mix is not a therapy dog yet, but my cousin works with mentally disabled adults and takes her to work two or three times a month. The residents love to pet and play with her and are always sad when she leaves.

Christi and Macey are Maltese x Shitzu litter mates born in Okinawa Japan, they are now almost 16 years old. Christi looks more Maltese and has a calm personality. Macey has more attitude and tends to be moody.
We have had them since birth and as they have aged we have had few medical problems. They have lost their hearing to a degree as well as vision. They no longer bark and we really miss our door alerts/ greeters.
They are a real blessing and excellent with our kids. We are grateful for the time we have with them.

My wife and grandson brought my Maltese x Shitzu home from the dog pound 7 months after my pet dog Lady died who we had for seven years. I did not want another dog in my life because I become too attached to them and I did not want to go through another sadness of losing a pet again.
Joycee was infested with fleas and very thin. Unfortunately she was over a year old when we got her with no training whatsoever. She was housebroken, friendly, and very energetic and loves to be loved and is spoiled rotten. My Malchi however is very bold and barks at every one she sees when I walk her. Once the people stop walking she will ease up to them and let them pet her. She does it just to get attention I believe because when the people she barks and growls at approach her she will shy away and growl a little and eventually let them pet her.
She is so intelligent, alert and likes lot of loving. She is a sweetheart and my wife and I just love my Maltese x Shitzu to death.

My husband just bought me this little black and white Maltese x Shitzu ball of fur yesterday. I fell instantly in love with her! She is so sweet and lovable.
My two children (3&5 yr olds) love her, she is great with them both. My daughter named her Cookie, as she is black and white and looks like an Oreo cookie.
Cookie is 10 months old and my family and I couldn't be happier with our new addition!

Shorty is a 6 month old Maltese x Shitzu and the love of my life... aside from my kids who are 9, 6, and 5. He can hold his own against our other dog.
He is all white with black on his head and tail. Our Maltese Shitzu loves walks, car rides, and is really sweet. He was kinda hard to potty train when we first got him but now is fully train.
The cutest thing I think he does is he dances on his hind legs for a treat. This is not something I trained him to do he just does it.

Gizmo is a highly energetic 4 month old Maltese x Shitzu!! He currently is about 7 pounds and is growing like a weed. He loves to play with our other dog, a 1 1/2 old boxer... even though he is much smaller, he still rules the house. He loves to be held and will rest his head on your shoulder.
He was very quick to potty train, only took a few weeks and he hasn't had a accident in the house in months. I think its really helped having another dog for him to learn from. He will play for hours on end and then all of a sudden he will disappear and I will find him fast asleep behind the couch.
Only downfall is he is a early riser and loves to chew on anything he can get his little paws on, especially tearing apart Kleenex and toilet paper!!! Other than that I love our little man and hope that our Shitzu Maltese mix is around for a long time!

We rescued our little Maltese x Shitzu boy from a pet store where he had lived from 8 weeks to 7 months. We brought "Lucky P" home and he didn't know what the sky was or what grass was. He didn't bark for a few days after we brought him home and he lumbered around with no personality whatsoever. Then he flipped a switch and we have had the most amazing experience with him. He is such a lover and super playful, he also dances (hip hop!) he is too cute. He will be a year on 9/17/08.

Everybody meet my baby Maltese x Shitzu, Maya. She is very adorable and she likes to be touched all the time. She wakes me up every morning by licking my face (what a way to wake up every morning).
We got her when she was just 2 months old in a shelter. I knew she was the one for me when she stood up when I passed by her cage. She is now 1.5 years old. She is the best dog in the world!!!

My wonderful little Maltese x Shitzu Maverick is a brilliant, bright, loving, gentle, well mannered, very energetic and handsome little man. My apartment is as he thinks "HIS" playground and exercise thrown.
For a non-shedding superdog I can't help but love my Maltese Shitzu mix dearly, along with everyone else that sets their eyes on him.

Hi my name is Squiggy, and I am a Malshi or Maltese x Shitzu! I always thought I was made up or not real but now I know we are REAL!
So let me tell you a little bit about me... I like to Sing... yes.. SING. I can carry a note like Whitney Houston. I am a CHAMP at the dog park(very popular) ;) wink wink... But there's more to me than that. I do have a softer side. I can not and i repeat ... CAN NOT sleep unless I'm in the bed with my mommy and daddy. I'm an excellent kisser and cuddler.
Hey personally i think I'm a great guy... So If you are a 'fellow' Malshi (my mom calls me a Maltishit) we should catch each other at the park!
See ya
Squiggy
