Whoopie, the Maltese Westie mix, we picked up this black ball of fluff at 12 weeks. Both parents were white all the other puppies were white, she being the runt was a throw back from somewhere (Black/white?). We Instantly fell in love with her, she follows me everywhere. At a 14 weeks we went visiting friends who forgot they had put ratsack down upstairs little whoopie found it 6 weeks of taking tablets to reverse the effects.

Our Maltese Westie mix Jasper is extremely intelligent, loves to play and does not back down to any other dog. Jasper needs a lot of love, and hates to sleep alone. Jasper can go for a long run with me, or is content to stay on the couch.
Because he does not shed, our Westie mix is the perfect indoor dog, but can be left outside for the day with no problems.
We were fortunate enough to adopt Jasper from a family that was moving, and can't imagine ever having another kind of dog again.

My Westie mix is the greatest thing that ever happened to me. He is the love of my life. I did adopt him because no one wanted him.
He is a liver shunt puppy. I have run all the tests and now waiting for the next step which will be the portagram to see if we can fix the problem. He has a happy carefree life with 7 cats to annoy and chase around. He has had a pretty healthy time of things so far as he is on meds and seems to respond fairly good for now. Not too many ups and downs. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all turns out for the best. My Maltese Westie mix is 6 months old and pushing 8 pounds.
I do work for an animal hospital and have a great surgeon on staff. My only concern is that I can afford the surgery. But it will be done and I will just have to borrow if I have too. So wish us well.
Thank you in advance for your wishes and prayers.

Baxter and Marley are both Highland Maltie rescues. They are completely different in size and attitude, but oh so lovable. Marley just had cataract removal surgery, and all is going well. Baxter is nothing but fun and loves his toys, our yard is proof.
Both are very attached to each other and Baxter being the larger dog, lets Marley overtake him in wrestling, but just for fun of course. Marley will be on the Okwestierescue.com website soon, Baxter is already on there.
Merry Christmas to all!!

He is a Maltese Westie mix and he is a hoot. You cannot slow this dog down. He loves to play fetch and to play with other animals. He can be very stubborn but that can always be worked out. He understand that he will not get what he wants unless he does what he is told and I hold out and he comes around.
I just love this little guy, unfortunately he was sold to me as a pure Maltese and I am sure this was a puppy mill situation but he has proven to be one of the best animals I have ever had and get along great with my Maltese Westie mix girl.

Loco is an 8 year old Highland Maltie with a big personality. He loves to play and will happily play by himself, tossing a toy into the air and retrieving it. Although a bit skittish around strangers, once he warms up to someone he is friendly and sweet. He adores his big sister Dinah (a Beagle) but does not interact well with other dogs or animals of any kind. He's a fierce protector though -- I have personally witnessed him kill a rat in the yard with one shake of his head. He's my darling and a ray of sunshine in my life.

Finnegan is the most lovable, highly affectionate any owner could want. My Westie Maltese is super social and loves playing .. ok slightly terrorizing my 2 cats. He loves his walks and has an excellent memory.. especially when going to the exact same location day after day searching for the neighbourhood rabbit.
He wakes me up with kisses 6:30 am like clock work and is off to the races. He’s especially friendly to all people and loves company! He’s super sweet with my 2 kids and protective. Expect constant kisses if you sneeze or cough.. just making sure I’m ok! This breed is so much fun, so loving, loves car rides, and I couldn’t imagine my life with out him!

I adopted my Highland Maltie Molly when she was 3 1/2. I had lost my best friend, and partner in crime of 40+ years and needed a reason to get out of bed every day. I sincerely believe my Ed had a hand in our finding each other. I know for a fact he would have loved her despite the fact that he preferred German Shepards. (We had three over the years.) I'm truly blessed to have her.

My Maltese Westie mix Roxy is such a smart dog. She was very easy to train. My grandma always says that Roxy thinks she is a person and I agree. She goes crazy when you ask her if she wants a "Cookie" (her treat and/or vitamin) she is scared of thunder storms, vacuums, basically anything loud. She is such a lovable and sweet dog. She is very overprotective of me. My Maltese Westie does not like anyone coming near me if they are yelling or even to give me a high five. She will even bark if anyone yells my name and she used to bark at my ex-husband when he would call me "Babe". She is just all around an amazing dog. I can't picture my life without her in it.
