Yorkie Maltese Puppy - Hamlet

Hamlet

Hamlet

This is Hamlet, our Yorkie Maltese puppy. We have had him for only a week now, he's 10 weeks old. He is absolutely adorable and has stolen all of our hearts already. He weighs about 2.5 lbs. Now and I hear that he will be about 6 or 7 lbs.

He is really funny, loves to run around with his toys in his mouth, and he's incredibly fast! He doesn't bark at all, and in fact have only heard him once! I am a little worried that he wont be able to go up and then down stairs.

Before our Yorkie Maltese Hamlet we had a Westie named Dunkin for 13 years. When he passed away it completely broke my heart. I swore I would not get another dog, but couldn't stand the emptiness and sadness here at home. Thankfully Hamlet is doing his best to help us heal, and really keeps us all laughing. He's a snugly and playful love, and we are thrilled to welcome into our family and our hearts!

Giving us hope NEW
by: Anonymous

We just started looking for a mixed puppy this last week. We lost our dear Nana after a very short illness after 14 years. We haven't wanted to replace our baby girl. Yet the loneness is terrible. We have looked at a lot of mixed breeds. Nana was Shitz griffon mix and was the best cuddle and friendly dog. I was looking at Morkies when I came across your note about your dear dog passing away and how you felt like us and how much Hamlet has helped you. I just wanted say Thank You We will keep searching and am sure there is a new baby girl out there for us.

Hamlet is adorable!! I have a Morkie also as named above. We got her when she was 8 wks. old. She weighed 6.5 lbs. when she was 6 mos. old and is about 7 lbs. now at 10 mos. We keep her in a short cut now that it is summer and hot. She looks so cute--like a little lamb. These Morkie's are smart, faster than light, think they are big, are loving and affectionate wanting to be around you all the time, and hate to be left out of anything. They can get "bossy," so you have to let them know who the real boss is right away. They are very easy to train except for that little independent streak. Muffit is the cutest and most fun pet ever.
I had two chihuahuas for 15 years. Muffit joined us a year after they had to be put to sleep. We love her dearly!

Morkie Puppies - Boosh

by Scotty Welch
(Penacook, NH USA)

The Mighty BOOSH!

The Mighty BOOSH!

Boosh is the fourth dog to come into our home and one of the best Morkie puppies. We have three Golden Retrievers, but my wife wanted a "little girl" of her own. Enter Boosh. We got her at 8 weeks old, and she is now 8 months old.

She weighs a little over 6 pounds, and is absolutely fearless. She is not afraid of any of the other dogs, including Nitro, who is my 2 year old 100 pound Golden. Actually, he loves Boosh, but when he barks at her she just barks right back and jumps on his head to get him playing, whether he wants to or not. Our Morkie puppy picks up and carries the big toys that the Goldens play with, and it is so funny to watch her run with a huge frisbee hanging out of her mouth.

Although she was supposed to be mommy's girl, she has quickly taken to daddy, and likes to sleep on my pillow right next to me. She knows to go outside to the bathroom, but she still has accidents in the house sometimes, but if you put a puppy pad down for her somewhere she will always go to that if not outdoors.

Yorkie Maltese Puppy - Bella

Our sweet Bella sitting on the dashboard watching the people walk by in the parking lot

Bella is a little doll. Our Yorkie Maltese puppy is very energetic and loves to play with any toy that squeaks. She thinks she is a Great Dane until the person or other animal gets close enough to her and she runs and hides under my feet. We got her when she was 10 weeks old and she's just about 5 months now.

She is a lazy puppy and likes to lay on the couch and snuggle, but there are times when she gets bursts of energy that she runs laps around the house. Our Morkie is very particular in the treats she takes. She does not like the biscuits at all. She would prefer some thing softer or a rawhide. She may be small but our Yorkie Maltese puppy has us wrapped around her little paw :)

Well where to start, my Morkie puppy Cosmo is a little ball of energy. After a long day at work I come home to a very active little guy. He makes my day even better when I see his one pointed ear and little beady eyes.

He loves to play & when bedtime comes he stands by my bed and looks back at me telling me he's ready =]. Cosmo loves to cuddle and give kisses. Morkie puppies are so much fun!!!

I just got my Morkie puppies. I was only getting one, but my mother-in-law said that it would not be right to split up the family, so I got both and I am so happy that I did.

They are 4 months old and are brother and sister. They are great together and are never apart. Luke is on the right. He is six pounds and Lea is a teacup, only going to be 3 pounds!

Yorkie Maltese Puppy - Ivy

by Maria
(Tamarac, Florida )

Ivy is about nine months old now. My Yorkie Maltese puppy is very playful but also can take very long naps. She loves to be held. When I go to put her on my bed at night she automatically takes the "down" or submissive position which is very different than my last dog who I had to chase all over the house to pick up. I'm not complaining but she has only barked once or twice, only cries like a baby when she doesn't get her way. Does anyone else have a Morkie that doesn't bark?

The barking will come. NEW
by: Anonymous

Our little Morkie didn't bark for the first two years that we had her. She is three and a half now and has found her voice. She is the best little dog we have ever had and we can't imagine life without her in it. Just wait, the bark will come when she's more confident in her position in the family. Bailey now thinks everything is about her and loves getting attention from everyone. Once her presences is acknowledged she will lay down and go to sleep. Getting our Morkie was the best thing we ever did.

I have a 2 1/2 month old Morkie who doesn't bark very much. I had her for a week or two before I heard the first bark. She growls more than anything (when she's playing). It's the cutest. I've also seen an agressive growl from her. But we were outside the other night and she heard two neighbors talking, and she began growling and then barked. She did this twice. I thought way to go - my 2 lb watchdog, lol.

Morkies barking
by: Susan

OMG, how I wish I had a Morkie that didn't bark or at least barked less then Belle does. She gets excited over everything she sees out the window and barks. She goes in her kennel when we are both gone and as soon as she hears the garage door open, she raises the roof until I get her out. It's been hard to train her as we have a big Lab that has taught his "little sister" many things! We are working on the barking, maybe there's hope. I sure wouldn't worry or complain about them not barking alot.

They're too cute! NEW
by: Morgan

I have a morkie, and I named him Harley, also! I tried to give him a tough name to make up for his little size. Haha! It must be working, because he thinks he is the biggest dog ever. He'll roll around and play with all the other dogs all day long. They'll kick him over multiple times, but he'll jump right back up and go running for more. So playful, and so sweet. I've had him for about a month and he has completely stolen my heart!

Morkie Puppy Dog - Cody

Cody's Art work by his mommy

My husband and I named our Morkie puppy dog, Cody. He is very tiny now. He is 10 weeks old and weights 1 pound 3 oz. He has short legs, but he runs really fast. He loves to play chase and being chased. I work from home, so we have his crate in my office, so he can be with me while I work. Cody has his own 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom apartment. :) You'll see his lovely apartment in the picture. LOL We saw Puppy Apartment on YouTube and got the idea to make our crate exactly same setup using the divider. He is very smart and figure out from the day one where he needs to do his business.

Our Yorkie Maltese mix also learned how to sit, stay, come, don't bite and let's go bye bye on commands. I let him run around freely when we are downstairs where there is no carpet. But, I have the hanging door bells by the sliding door to the back yard. He now knows to ring the bell to go out to do the business. I heard from many sources that you should not crate train if you want them to do the business outside, because it will confused the dog. But, not my Cody. He knows already. Of course, he couldn't hold too long if I don't hurry and let him out, but it's my fault and not his fault.

This is our 4th dog (all our previous dogs passed away) and I am sure it will be our last dog. We particularily want the little dog, so that we can take him everywhere we go. We travel quite often and we can't wait to take him with us on our next trip. When I open his travel bag and say "Cody, let's go bye bye" and he jump in to the bag and wait for me to zip the bag up. We just adore our Morkie. This boy is perfect in every way!

Fressia on momma's lap

Fressia on momma's lap

I just got my Maltese Yorkie puppy yesterday. She is 3 months old and a very sweet little girl. She weighs about 2 1/2 pounds. She could just lay on my lap all day. I slept with her on the couch last night and she had her little head rested on my arm the entire night. Not once did she squirm, or wake me up.

She is a very gentle, meek baby.

I love her!

Just a question though, my Maltese Yorkie doesn't have much hair, what she does have is very thin... shouldn't she have a thick coat by now? Please look at her and tell me what you think. Her mama is a Yorkie and her papa is a Maltese.

Thank you

Thank you so much for your comments. She is really turning out to be such a sweet loving dog. I have never had one who is so gentle. She loves to be brushed and her hair is starting to get long. I was questioning her blood lines, as her hair was only 3/4 inch long at 3 months, but now at 4 months it's about an inch and a quarter. Growing slow, but definately coming in. I would like to see pics of your cuties too, please :)

Again, thank you

I have a Morkie female that is now 10 mos. old. She has white hair with gold here and there. Newly born, she was black and tan. Her skin is very dark. Her hair was not thick either at three mos. I've had her in puppy cuts during these warm summer months. I'm letting it grow out now. Her hair is still not really thick, but is sort of curly/straight?? If you keep it brushed, it's fluffy and soft. But most often, she just looks like a little raggamuffin! Yorkies don't have thick hair either, just lots of it. Since these dogs have no undercoat, that would explain it looking thin. It grows rapidly. I take Muffit to the Doggie Boutique every six weeks. Her hair grows about 1/2" or more in that time. Their hair is so soft. Long or short, they look adorable.

Your baby is so cute. I have a Morkie too Her mother is a Yorkie and her father a Maltese. Belle's hair is cottony but not real thick like the Maltese. I can see her pink skin through her hair in some areas. I think they pick this up from more of the Yorkie side. They do get more hair as they get older.
